Taron Egerton (born November 10, 1989) is a Welsh actor. He is known for his role as Dennis “Asbo” Severs in the British television series The Smoke and Liam Jay in the two-part episode “The Ramblin’ Boy” in the seventh series ofLewis. He will star in Kingsman: The Secret Service as Gary “Eggsy” Unwin in February 2015 and will be a part of the upcoming British drama film Testament of Youth as Edward Brittain.

Taron attended Ysgol Penglais Comprehensive school in Aberystwyth, Wales. Egerton is a RADA-trained actor that graduated with a BA (Hons) Acting in 2012. He is a strong tenor through music and dance, specializing in stage combat and his interests include literature and travel. As a native Welsh-West and English speaker, Egerton can also speak a number of accents/dialects: American-New York, American-Standard, Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, London, Northern, and RP.

From previous expriences in RADA, he was the winner of the Stephen Sondheim Society ‘Student Performer of the Year’ 2011 when he was 21 years old and a renowned member of the National Youth Theatre; Egerton started out in Aberystwyth Arts Centre before moving onto RADA.

Egerton made his acting debut in 2013 with a small role in two episodes of Inspector Lewis as Liam Jay. Later, he was added to the main cast of the Sky1 series The Smoke.

On July 25, 2013, Variety reported that director Matthew Vaughn cast Egerton as Gary ‘Eggsy’ Urwin, a nephew of Colin Firth’s character in the upcoming film Kingsman: The Secret Service.

On February 13, 2014, Egerton joined the cast of the film Testament of Youth based on the life of Vera Brittain, which stars Alicia Vikander and Kit Harington as the leads.
