‘Kingsman 2’: Matthew Vaughn Reveals Official Title, Concept Art, and Story Details
Written by Tiffany on March 28 2016
It’s been over a year since we followed Taron Egerton‘s Eggsy on his journey to be a highly skilled spy in Kingsman: The Secret Service, but word since that film’s impressive box office take has been centered on an inevitable sequel to the perverse action bonanza. Matthew Vaughn, the man behind X-Men: First Classand Layer Cake, directed the first film and is already set to direct the second one. And as CBM points out, in a new interview with Empire Magazine, the writer-director gave up a small treasure trove of information about what to expect when Eggsy and Mark Strong‘s Merlin return in 2017.
First of all, we now have a title for the upcoming film:Kingsman: The Golden Circle is the official title according to Vaughn, who didnt feel the need to expand on what exactly this Golden Circle is. The story on the new Kingsman movie in Empire also includes a good look at some concept art for the sequel, one of which is a first look at the Kingsman cab that can dive deep underwater like a submarine. More importantly, one of the pieces of art shows a bombed-out Kingsman headquarters, suggesting that, much like Skyfall, the new film will begins with the destruction of the home base of Eggsy and Merlin. It’s likely this that will send our heroes running for their American counterparts, The Statesman, run by Halle Berry‘s character.
