Netflix’s Dark Crystal prequel series has cast Taron Egerton, Anya Taylor-Joy and Nathalie Emmanuel in lead roles, with a host of other actors also lending their voices.
Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance is based on Jim Henson and Frank Oz’s 1982 movie and set many years before the events of the film. Egerton, Taylor-Joy and Emmanuel will lend their voices the heroes of the story, Gelflings named Rian, Brea and Deet. With their planet, Thra, dying, they set off on a quest to reverse the sickness and come into conflict with the evil Skeksis.
The voice cast will also include Caitriona Balfe, Helena Bonham-Carter, Harris Dickinson, Natalie Dormer, Eddie Izzard, Theo James, Toby Jones, Shazad Latif, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mark Strong and Alicia Vikander, all of whom will also play Gelflings.
Other characters will be voiced by Mark Hamill, Harvey Fierstein, Ralph Ineson, Jason Isaacs, Keegan-Michael Key, Olafur Darri Olafsson, Simon Pegg and Andy Samberg. Donna Kimball will play Aughra, an oracle who also appears in the 1982 movie. Puppeteers including Alice Dinnean, Louise Gold, Neil Sterenberg and Victor Yerrid will voice additional characters.
